Abstract

The study aims at learning about what hybrid education is and its characteristics, and identifying why hybrid education is applied within the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Helwan University.
Through the theoretical framework, the study concluded that the educational reality in Egypt indicates that hybrid education was not well established due to the dominance of traditional education. Hybrid education is also significantly different from traditional education in terms of its characteristics and advantages. Countries in general, and education systems in particular, resorted to it to confront Coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, there have been changes in the educational process in faculties in general, and the faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Helwan University in particular. The faculty sought to take many measures to adapt to the reality of hybrid education. The study included the proposal made by the Supreme Council of Universities to study the application of hybrid education in universities.
To achieve the desired results of the study, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to a group of undergraduate students from the Faculty, from which 313 ones were valid. The results showed that the most important program used during applying hybrid education in the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels is Microsoft Teams. The results also indicated that there isn't a complete knowledge of all the potential to enhance hybrid education; and that for the continuity of the educational process, hybrid education must be used, especially in times of crisis.
