The Role of Tourist Festivals in Revitalization of Tourism Movement in Sudan Case study: The Red Sea Festival for Tourism and Marketing(Itanina)

Abstract

The study dealt with the definition of tourist festivals, its objectives and its role in economic and social development. The study aimed to identify the tourist festivals in Sudan, identify the impact of the Red Sea Festival for Tourism and Marketing on Activating the tourist movement, and to identify the problems and obstacles facing tourism festivals in Sudan in general and the especially Tourism and Shopping Festival in Port Sudan.
The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach, and the study concluded that tourism festivals contribute to tourism promotion and tourism development, and increase the movement of inbound and outbound tourism, and that there are some obstacles that face this type of tourism. Official government institutions should support these activities and events in partnership with the private sector, Diversification of festival activities with increased interest in organizing diving events, fishing races, water games and safari trips.
