Abstract

Sporting events are considered one of the most important means of tourist attractions, because of the great economic return they bring to the countries that organize them. As a strategy for economic development in major cities and remote remote areas, it adds a distinctive feature to the destination through sports in order to market the image of the tourist destination and improve the economic level of the communities that host sporting events for the purpose of entertainment and enhance community pride in its homeland and stimulate spending and act as a focal point when clarifying tourism activities.

Research aims to identify the impact of sporting events on marketing opportunities for the Egyptian tourist destination. The methodology of this research was divided into: a theoretical part that includes everything related to the variables of this study from theories and previous studies, and a field part. On the impact of sporting events on marketing opportunities for the Egyptian tourist destination.

The results of the study indicated that there is an impact of sporting events in increasing the marketing opportunities of the Egyptian tourist destination, and accordingly, the marketing effectiveness of the Egyptian destination is improved. The study recommended the need to follow marketing policies based on sporting events for marketing to the Egyptian tourist destination, in addition to the need for coordination between the relevant government agencies and tourism companies in order to effectively use these sporting events in the tourism field
